Madurai International Airport, under the initiative of Airports Authority of India, will be celebrating “Yatri Suvidha Diwas” On 15th June 2026 with a series of activities aimed at enhancing passenger experience and fostering community engagement. The programme is designed to celebrate the spirit of service, promote social responsibility, and create a pleasant experience for travellers.As part of the programme, a special welcome will be extended to arriving passengers, along with cultural activities such as a folk-dance performance in the arrival hall. The celebrations will also include a Tree plantation drive (“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”) in the city side of the airport, along with a Quiz and Painting competition for children to be held in the SHA. In addition, a selfie photo booth will be available at arrival hall and departure hall for the passengers to capture memorable moments. Public service initiatives such as a Blood Donation camp, Free Health Check-up and Eye Check-up kiosk will be set up in collaboration with medical experts. School children of “St. Annes High School” from 12th class will be visited by the Airports Authority of India staff to provide exposure to Aviation career opportunities. India has emerged as one of the strongest examples of growing presence of women in aviation sector, and to appreciate the fact women staff will be honoured during the event by Airports Authority of India. The event will also include obtaining feedback from the passengers to strengthen the service delivery.Madurai International Airport continues to uphold its commitment to providing reliable, efficient and passenger focused services. These initiatives reflect the airport’s constant endeavor to create a welcoming travel experience for passengers. Airport Taxi drivers are invited to take part in this event as some events such as Eye Check-up, Blood Donation camp will be happening outside the terminal building.
