On May 17, 24 at Base Repair Depot Air Force Palam, Mrs. Neeta Chaudhari, President of the Air Force Family Welfare Association, opened Umeed Niketan, an advanced therapy center for kids with special needs. Air Commodore Harsh Bahl, Air Officer Commanding, Depot and Wing Commander (Mrs. Reena Bahl (Retd.), President Air Force Family Welfare Association (Local), welcomed Mrs. Neeta Chaudhari and other distinguished dignitaries. The Umeed Niketan was designed to provide a supportive atmosphere where kids with special needs may think, grow, and acquire life skills via recreational activities catered to their individual requirements.
Offering a wide range of programs to support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of unique children, the center provides everything from sensory exploration and speech therapy to adaptive sports and interactive immersive experiences. Nearly 55 children with special needs would be served by the Umeed Niketan, with assistance from a committed group of qualified special educators. All of the regional presidents of Air Force Family Welfare Associations from across the nation attended the inauguration, which was conducted in an appropriate manner. The wives of every senior Air Marshal from the Delhi region was also there to witness this touching inauguration. The IAF’s continued dedication to enhancing the facilities for the welfare of Air Force families is demonstrated by this unique occasion.
